Not to leave out the mess left in Vietnam; not only from Monsanto's Agent Orange, but the landmines still maiming those simple walking in the countrysides abandoned by those forces which exploited ignorance.

The previous governor of the state of Indiana agreed to allow BP (who should be bankrupt and in prison) to release mercury in a Lake which supplies 3 million people with water. Please back up with me while I recall Japan's catastrophe with mercury getting into the food chain VIA industry producing NIGATA MINAMATA disease. Not one you are likely to forget if you'd ever seen the pictures of the results of damage to mind and matter as well producing deformed children. Lovely and unforgettable how these beings were cared for, with love. oh well. Maybe we aren't old enough to consider the Mad Hatter from the book, ALICE IN WONDERLAND was in fact how the hatter's in the U.K. often sounded after years
sewing with needles made of mercury to make the hats. Yep. Nuts.
Ran into a possible replica of that syndrome when speaking with a man who used chemicals in his dry cleaning business for years. No one in the community cared to ever ask a favor, nor speak with him on a 'bad day'.
So go right ahead and allow a bit of mercury in the water. Clean it up, How! Ever try harvesting mercury with a pitchfork? ok leave that behind. The possibility of cleaning it up using yet another chemical gives me occasion to breathe deep and know that no matter how much we know, we don't know. Crying out loud the 1930's American Dust Bowl happened as a direct result of The United States Department of Agriculture instructing wanna-be would-be farmers how and when to plow the land. And Farmers listen to these jerks to this day?
The previous governor is now president of an agricultural university. The university once prided itself on
sending a professor to become the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture and that man Earl Butz told an assembly in 1968 that the Earth could support 50 billion people with the new techniques they had for planting and harvesting. I want to object, will we still have dogs and cats and elephants and beavers (who are the only ones designated by Mother Earth to build dams)?
Now they want to dam white river for recreation, and controlling the water which needs our help not our messing with it. Our prayers, and thanks spirit for the memories they carry even through our veins.
I wrote 4 letters to Madam Presidente of Brazil about not building the planned 60 dams in the Amazon.
And now in my own state they are trying to do the same thing. Control and own the water, part of it. and the lousy stated intent is to produce electricity when there are other ways. With investment we could be released from creating electricity which pollutes and costs more than we know as we look around at the environment we have changed.
I stood on the banks of the Tippecanoe River in the 1950's with my great-grandparents and listened as they complained about how polluted the river had become since they bought the property in the 1940's.
And hello folks we have a Pipeline in Indiana... had to learn about that from an alternative source.
Way to go Alternative. The word is mainstreaming. After loosing a quarter million people to hospital mistakes, disease picked up in hospitals, drug interactions, etc etc... We are looking at alternatives We are ignorant. And BP had how many official (read reported ) pipeline leaks last year? whew.
why aren't we storming city halls? Impeaching. Crying FOUL!
